Over 500,000 Sony VAIO laptops at risk of overheating

As the summer scorches on, Sony VAIO laptops are also scorching away, over 500,000 laptops are at risk of overheating!

Sony have received 39 complaints of overheating so far it has been said, mainly on the F- and C- series. They have provided newer BIOSes (F- and C- series only) to try and help prevent the overheating issues. In some cases the overheating has been so bad that even the shell has become warped!

The said cause of these overheats is poorly-calibrated temperature sensors, which in-turn doesn’t increase fan speeds with the rising temperatures – the new BIOSes are said to fix this problem.
