Eyefinity technology has been leading the way for multiple displays for a while and to use more than 2 displays on the new Nvidia GPUs required a multi-card setup, Multi Vision capable. Well step in Zotac, with the brand new Zotac GeForce GTX 460 3DP. The 3DP boasts 3 display port adaptors and one dual-link DVI connection which allows a maximum resolution of 6400 x 1200 to be output across those 4 displays.

“Quadruple-display computing is becoming more popular for gaming and office use. With the new ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 460 3DP we can deliver quadruple-display computing with NVIDIA® Fermi architecture from a single graphics card, a world’s first,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International.

Under the hood is a tweaked GTX 460 GPU, overclocked to 710MHz to further add to value. With 1GB of VRAM paired with a 256-Bit Wide memory interface, this card isn’t one to miss! As if that wasn’t enough, the 3DP ships with Price of Persia: Forgotten Sands to allow us enthusiasts to take advantage of the capibilities immediately!

The Xonar DG sound card combines Dolby Headphone 5.1 high definition surround with ASUS’ own GX 2.5 gaming audio engine and an on-board headset amplifier. The result is accurate and deep audio that brings every nuance and sound across fully, making the new Xonar DG an ideal sound card for gamers who want to remain totally aware of their play environments.

The Xonar Advantage for Gaming and Multimedia

The new Xonar DG sound card joins the existing Xonar range, which includes cutting-edge audio products for PCs such as the Xonar Xense and Xonar Essence, all of which have been tailored towards gaming and multimedia sound with built-in dedicated headphone amplifiers. The emphasis with Xonar sound cards has been to ensure truly immersive, precise audio reproduction in games and movies, making interactive and multimedia experiences more enjoyable.

Standard sound cards offer compromised audio when heard through headphones, resulting in muddy and underpowered reproduction. The new Xonar DG resolves this and other issues with headphone-dedicated amplification. The card has been designed from the ground up to cater to PC gamers who prefer to get sound through personal audio.

Realistic Acoustics

Accurate positioning through surround sound can make a huge difference for gamers, especially in first person shooters. Sound cues are often the only means by which players can pinpoint the location of opponents in a play arena, and so a quality sound card that brings out every rustle, footstep or thump can prove pivotal in gaining a tactical advantage.

The Xonar DG has been designed and built to give gamers the audio edge over the competition and to enhance the user experience.

Ideal for Entertainment Center PCs

The Xonar DG comes in a low profile presentation with a low profile bracket. Therefore, in addition to its role as a gaming sound card, it easily integrates into compact home theater PC configurations that use smaller, space-saving cases.

The powerful amplification of the card comes into play beyond games, rendering movie audio in great detail with lively and impressive reproduction. The same traits hold true for music, making the Xonar DG an excellent all-round multimedia choice. This is bolstered by the card’s auto-detection flexibility, as it switches instantly between front and rear panel audio, depending on where headphones are connected.

Fremont, CA – August 9, 2010 – Antec, Inc., the global leader in high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, today announced the full availability of its brand new line of CPU coolers: the KÜHLER series. Three models, the KÜHLER Box, KÜHLER Shelf and KÜHLER Flow, make up the series, providing users with an assortment of options when selecting an optimal CPU cooling solution.

The KÜHLER Box CPU cooler is symmetrical and rotatable 90°, 180° and 270° in order to coordinate seamlessly with interior airflow, and offers a powerful choice for cooling high-powered builds. Equipped with a whisper-quiet 120 mm Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) fan positioned between two massive aluminum heat sinks, the KÜHLER Box is capable of blowing as much as 68.2 CFM or operating as quiet as 11.35 dBA, all while achieving maximum heat conduction and airflow. To offer unmatched heat transference, the KÜHLER Box boasts eight embedded copper heat pipes and is suitable for chassis heights up to 7”, offering versatile, powerful cooling performance for high-power gaming and overclocking applications.

The KÜHLER Shelf features a 120 mm PWM fan with a downward airflow design to blow cool air over an aluminum heat sink positioned parallel to the plane of the motherboard, resulting in 10 to 20 mm more clearance than similarly built competing heat sinks. Since the fan is positioned on top of the heat sink, the KÜHLER Shelf also provides airflow to near-CPU components, improving overall thermal dissipation and component reliability ideal for multi-core CPU builds suffering from high motherboard temperatures. This cooler also comes with seven copper heat pipes arranged in a space-saving configuration featuring with a narrow base that fits easily into tight spaces with tall chipsets and heat sinks by the CPU socket – great for replacements and upgrades onto densely packed motherboards for optimal heat transference.

Rounding out the series is the KÜHLER Flow CPU cooler, which features a vertical heat sink that can be re-positioned to cooperate with the case’s existing intake and exhaust fans. This cooler is built with a 120 mm PWM fan that works with the enclosure’s natural airflow capabilities and sets up a dynamic airflow pattern that sweeps through the entire case, without the turbulence or counter currents typically associated with other CPU coolers. At 122 mm wide and 157 mm high, it fits easily into standard cases without the need for unnecessary drilling and cutting. Additionally, the cooler comes with seven copper heat pipes for excellent heat transference, and includes rubber fan grommets to reduce vibration.

All three KÜHLER CPU cooler models can be mounted easily on the leading desktop processor sockets, including LGA 1366, 1156, 775 and AMD® sockets AM3, AM2+, and are compatible with Intel® Core™ i7, Core™ i5 and AMD® Phenom™ II processors. Additionally, all come with an easy-installation kit, featuring an included mini-wrench for simple, fast and frustration-free set-up. Antec’s KÜHLER line of high-performance CPU coolers is the first to offer this kit as an included component.

“Most innovations in CPU cooling were designed to fit bulky and unmanageable heatpipe-based air coolers into a chassis,” said Scott Richards, senior vice president of Antec. “The new KÜHLER line of CPU coolers alter this thought process and offer users diverse cooling solutions to handle each individual user’s needs, helping to ensure better performance and improved system cooling.”

The KÜHLER Box, KÜHLER Shelf and KÜHLER Flow are all available for € 60,- through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors. Each model is backed by Antec’s Quality 2-Year (AQ2) Limited Warranty on parts and labor.

ASUS Adds Rumble Impact to Gaming and Multimedia with CineVibe Headphones

Integrates Force Feedback for Greater Immersion in Games and Movies

The inclusion of moving bass, force feedback reactive vibration and superior audio quality put the all-new ASUS CineVibe miles ahead of other headphones, providing an entirely upgraded personal audio experience.

Vibe for Better Action

CineVibe headphones use advanced audio rendering to provide impressive bass as well as precision mid and high range output, making them ideal for exciting gaming and movie watching.

Better yet, the biggest attraction with CineVibe headphones is the addition of reactive force feedback that vibrates in tandem with the action on screen, creating a gripping experience.

Unlike the forgettable sound of most headphones, CineVibe headphones evoke great wonder and amazement, injecting a whole new dimension of audio to personal, undisruptive gaming and movie watching.

Easy and Comfortable Audio Enjoyment

Simple USB connectivity delivers quality audio with no cumbersome installation called for. The built-in microphone fits online gaming perfectly with directional sound and noise cancelling that puts gamers in command of team tactics. Plus, the compact controller attachment provides immediate access to essential functions.

Users also enjoy prolonged comfort for many hours of gaming and movie watching with Japan-made protein leather ear cushions and the Styrofoam-padded headband.

Realism that Fits to Go

The fold-flat design means CineVibe headphones can easily fit in any carrier, bag or even big enough pockets. The thin profile and easy to manage cord prevent unwanted entanglements and messes, another bonus for gamers with already-cluttered work and play spaces.

CineVibe headphones change the way gamers perceive and enjoy personal audio, delivering true impact and advanced features to entertainment seekers.

What can we say? The results really do speak for themselves. When Noctua announce a CPU cooler, heads turn for a very good reason. They don’t stop halfway and quality is keyword with any product from the Austrian outfit. The NH-D14 tore the Thermalright Venomous X to pieces. That’s no easy achievement either, with it being regarded as one of the best CPU coolers on the market. The Venomous X does have a replacement though, something which we look to be reviewing very soon! It also left the CoolIT ECO A.L.C miles behind, proving that looks aren’t everything! If you want quality, the best and you won’t settle for anything less than perfect – look no further. This is the CPU cooler for you.

The NH-D14 retails for £55. That price is inclusive of two fans which cost £30 for both of them! That’s the CPU cooler alone for £25. Considering the Venomous X costs £40 with no fans, the NH-D14 offers superb value for money and is compatible with all current Intel and AMD sockets, unlike it’s counterpart. Put performance into the equation and purchasing anything else wouldn’t be so wise.

Pros:

Superb mounting mechanism

Unmatchable performance

Value for money

Compatibility

Easy to install

Quiet

U.L.N adpators

6 year warranty

Cons:

Size of heatsink may hinder installation (due to RAM height)

Hardwarsepot would like to award the Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler with the following awards:

Hardwarespot would like to thank Noctua for providing a sample for review.

Temperature values at stock:

As you can see, the idle temperature values with the Noctua NH-D14 with stock fans are much better than the Thermalright Venomous X and the CoolIT ECO A.L.C. This is by a margin of 3 degrees celsius on the Venomous X and 5 degrees celsius when comparing it to the CoolIT ECO A.L.C with stock fans. To have a 4 core, 8 threaded, enthusiast CPU idling at 33 degrees is astonishing!

At stock, the load temperature values of the i7 920 are much lower than any other air cooler we have tested. The NH-D14 beats the Venomous X by 3.5 degrees Celsius and beats the CoolIT ECO A.L.C by up to 12 degrees depending on the fan configuration! For one cooler to come and outperform another cooler by such a large amount is astonishing.

Temperature values at 4GHZ:

At 4GHZ, our i7 920 idled at 35 degrees Celsius with the NH-D14. This figure is 4 degrees lower than the Venomous X with aftermarket fans and 6 degrees cooler than the CoolIT ECO A.L.C, one again this is depending on the fan configuration on the CoolIT ECO A.L.C. To say we are happy with this cooler so far is an understatement!

Now these are the values we’ve been waiting for, load temperature at 4GHZ! Well, the NH-D14 shocked us. The NH-D14 kept our CPU nice and cool, peaking at a figure of 67 degrees Celsius. This is a whopping 7.5 degrees cooler than the CoolIT ECO A.L.C with stock fans and 5.5 degrees cooler than the Venomous X with aftermarket fans! Woah, we didn’t see that coming. It has left the competition miles behind and will be replacing the Venomous X in benching PC we use!

How many of you expected that? We didn’t expect the margin to be so large!

Previous – Next
